Move over, ordinary holiday decorations—the First Lady has once again elevated the White House for the Christmas season. Melania Trump unveiled her 2025 holiday transformation in a behind-the-scenes Facebook video, offering fans a glimpse of the glittering wonderland she created. After impressing viewers with her outfit at the official Christmas tree arrival in late November, Melania is back, this time with a home filled with ribbons, sparkling lights, and golden stars. This year, her decorations lean heavily on tradition while honoring causes close to her heart. The theme, “Home Is Where the Heart Is,” fills the Grand Foyer with towering, shimmering trees, twinkling chandeliers, and polished marble floors, exuding elegance and warmth.
A central highlight is the Blue Room’s 18-foot White House Christmas tree, dedicated to Gold Star families. Adorned with 3,000 feet of ribbon, custom ornaments representing every state and territory, and 420 strands of lights, the display pays tribute to families who have lost loved ones in military service. Each ornament carries meaning: birds symbolize freedom, hope, and courage, while flowers reflect resilience and enduring spirit
.In the East Room, patriotic red, white, and blue dominate as the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, with 56 eagle ornaments and 250 stars celebrating the milestone. Meanwhile, the Red Room features over 10,000 butterflies on a smaller tree, honoring foster children and highlighting Melania’s Be Best and Fostering the Future campaigns.
Other rooms combine history, playfulness, and holiday magic—from the Green Room’s playful “Family Fun” theme to a jaw-dropping South Portico gingerbread house weighing over 300 pounds. Across 28 burgundy- and gold-lit trees in the Grand Foyer, floral displays of amaryllis convey a message of love, strength, and family.
