Last night took an unexpected turn: a Mercedes — driver clearly impaired — slammed into my Jeep Cherokee, trying to total it. Thankfully the impact wasn’t catastrophic, but the Mercedes driver’s behavior was terrifying and reckless. I called the cops, got the other driver’s info (and a strong suspicion they were drunk or high), and swapped photos for insurance.
My Cherokee wasn’t going to die on the side of the road — I’ve got a clean spare body sitting ready, so I patched up what I could, bolted it on, and drove the Jeep home. It’s bruised and rattled, but it’s alive and I’m refusing to let someone else write its end. Police report filed, insurance notified — now it’s time for repairs, a lawyer if needed, and lots of coffee.
