Police in a rural Ohio town weren’t expecting this call: a horse-drawn buggy weaving all over the road like it had a mind of its own. When deputies finally caught up, they discovered the driver — a young Amish man — completely passed out, reins in hand, with an open Bud Light sitting proudly beside him.
The horse, loyal and confused, had been doing all the driving.
After several attempts to wake him, the deputies finally got the man to open his eyes, only for him to mumble, “I’m fine… the horse knows the way home.”
The situation quickly went from hilarious to serious as officers ensured the horse was safe, secured the buggy, and got the man the help he needed.
One thing’s for sure: when the police report includes a buggy, a Bud Light, and a horse doing better at driving than its owner… it’s going to be a wild night.
