The world had changed beyond recognition since the day he was locked away. Smartphones, the internet, even the faces of his family — all new, all overwhelming. But the sunlight on his skin felt the same, only brighter.

He paused for a moment, breathing in freedom like it was air he had been denied for a lifetime. Reporters asked questions, but he could only whisper:
