During those years, she chose purpose over fear, filling her life with love, service, and determination.Andrea and Chris were together for eight years, married for two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While she held multiple titles\u2014including Miss West Coast, Miss Fresno County, and Miss California Congeniality\u2014those closest to her say her character mattered far more than any crown. She was known for her warmth, encouragement, and ability to lift others even while facing her own illness. During treatment, Andrea met a young boy wearing a superhero costume to chemotherapy.That moment inspired the couple to create Not All Heroes Wear Capes, a program that brought costumed visits and joy to hospitalized children. Though emotionally difficult, Andrea said seeing the children smile made it worthwhile. At one point, Andrea went into remission, but the cancer later returned and progressed to stage IV. Her story highlights the rising risk of colorectal cancer in younger adults. She is survived by her husband, parents, and brothers.
