Former Alaska Governor and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin expressed interest in a future Trump Administration role during a recent interview with NewsNation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWould you ever go into the Trump administration, have you thought about it?\u201d NewsNation host Leland Vittert asked the former vice presidential candidate. \u201cYes, I would. I would love to,\u201d Palin answered without hesitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palin, who served as the governor of resource-rich Alaska from 2006 through 2009, went on to indicate that she was somewhat surprised at the lack of an offer for a role in the Trump Administration\u2019s energy goals. \u201cI thought that there\u2019d be a position in energy in that department, because that\u2019s my baby, is wanting independence for America. That\u2019s all about security and sovereignty of our nation, is to be energy independent, but that hasn\u2019t happened,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without naming anyone in particular, Palin further expressed frustration with \u201cgatekeepers\u201d surrounding the Trump Administration. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t know, Leland, there are some gatekeepers around that administration that, and they are tight,\u201d the former McCain running mate added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cThe gatekeepers, though, Leland, it gets frustrating for those who do have a heart to serve. And I didn\u2019t even get credentials to attend the GOP convention, if you can believe it,\u201d Palin continued, adding that she was the only living Republican presidential or vice presidential candidate who supported Trump. \u201cSo, yeah, they\u2019re pretty tight, but no, I\u2019d love to serve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palin first endorsed President-elect Trump in January 2016, appearing at rallies and giving Trump a boost with her historic base of conservative supporters. In October she joined Trump and other surrogates for his rally at Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has previously expressed frustration with the lack of a job offer, however. \u201cAndddd\u2026 yet another nominee announced!\u201d Palin wrote in an Instagram post back in November. A follow-up post read, \u201cFunny how politics work,\u201d accompanied by a picture of herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


In 2022, Palin unsuccessfully ran to represent Alaska\u2019s at-large congressional district. She ultimately came up short in a crowded field that included Republican Nick Begich and Democrat Mary Peltola, the latter of whom ultimately emerged victorious by a narrow margin. Begich went on to unseat Peltola back in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
