In 2010, April Webster and Nathan Fishbourne made headlines as Britain\u2019s youngest parents, a title they would hold for years to come. At just 13 years old when April became pregnant and 14 when their son Jamie was born, their story captured national attention and sparked a mixture of public reactions\u2014ranging from empathy to harsh judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their journey began as classmates at St. Cenydd School in Caerphilly, South Wales. What started as a young romance quickly turned into a life-altering responsibility. Just a day before her 14th birthday, April discovered she was expecting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The news devastated both families. She admitted to feeling too embarrassed to confide in her parents, while Nathan explained they hadn\u2019t used protection, claiming he disliked contraceptives after trying them once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite their shock, both families ultimately rallied to support the teenage couple. Nathan\u2019s father, Ron, a retired truck driver, told The Sun, \u201cI told him he\u2019d been foolish\u2026 but we\u2019re not turning our backs on Jamie.\u201d April\u2019s mother, Maria, echoed that sentiment. Jamie was born via emergency cesarean section in November 2010, weighing 8 pounds 14 ounces. He faced immediate health issues due to a malformed esophagus that made feeding difficult. After a hospital stay and surgery, he was cleared to return home. April, still a child herself, juggled her new role as a mother while living with her family. She and Jamie shared a room with her older sister, who also helped with night feedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Nathan lived a few miles away with his parents, he expressed a desire to co-parent. \u201cApril can have him five days a week, and I\u2019d love to have him on the weekends,\u201d he said at the time. But their relationship status remained uncertain. April admitted they were going through a \u201ccooling off period\u201d and wasn\u2019t sure if their relationship would last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four years later, April confirmed they had parted ways and had not stayed in contact. \u201cWe\u2019re not really in touch,\u201d she said in 2014. \u201cThere are no regrets, but we\u2019ve gone our separate ways.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April never completed her GCSEs and didn\u2019t return to school or work immediately, choosing instead to focus entirely on raising Jamie. Fortunately, she had strong support from her mother and sister, who found joy in having Jamie around. April once shared, \u201cI have time to relax in the mornings when Jamie goes to school. Maybe when he\u2019s older, I\u2019ll go to college. But I\u2019m in no rush to have another baby.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, April, now 28 and going by April Lianna, is a proud mother of three\u2014Jamie, Ava Lianne, and Rowan David. She\u2019s in a loving relationship with Jake Jones and often shares glimpses of her life and children on social media. Her story has transformed from teenage headlines to a tale of resilience and growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nathan, too, seems to have moved forward positively. In February 2023, he got engaged to Samantha, and together they\u2019ve built a new family with multiple children. It\u2019s heartening to see both April and Nathan thriving in their own ways, having embraced the responsibilities of parenthood early in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teen parenthood comes with profound challenges\u2014social scrutiny, missed opportunities, and emotional strain.
