A routine traffic stop turned into a chaotic showdown Monday afternoon when a self-proclaimed \u201csovereign citizen\u201d<\/strong> attempted to argue his way out of what officers say was a simple speeding violation \u2014 only to learn very quickly who was actually in charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to police, the driver, identified only as \u201cBrandon,\u201d<\/strong> was pulled over after going nearly 25 mph over the limit on a busy stretch of highway. Instead of handing over his license, Brandon launched into a rehearsed speech about \u201ctraveling, not driving,\u201d insisting traffic laws did not apply to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Body-camera footage captured the entire exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officer calmly asked, \u201cSir, I just need your license and registration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What he got instead was a ten-minute monologue:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am a free traveler,\u201d
\u201cI do not consent,\u201d
\u201cI don\u2019t fall under your corporate jurisdiction,\u201d
and the classic:
\u201cYou have no authority over me!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officer waited patiently\u2026 until Brandon rolled up his window and tried to drive away while still arguing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s when reality set in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
